Can I reset my encryption key?
It is possible to reset your encryption key however be warned: Resetting your encryption key will permanently erase your encrypted files & folders - Such is the nature of client-side encryption.
To reset your encryption key and generate a new passphrase simply:
- Log into the webapp Dashboard
- Click the avatar menu and go to Account Settings
- Once in settings select the Privacy tab
- Scroll down until you see the panel Reset Encryption Passphrase
- Enter your current UzzuCloud password and click submit
Once this process is complete, your entire encrypted section will be wiped. You will be asked to generate a new key by creating a new passphrase the next time you use the encryption section.
